I have been trying to remove AddThis from my wordpress for a couple of nights now. I couldn’t find where it was in any of my template setup. There are loads of questions on this when I searched, loads with answers about using the .htaccess. Some of them related to wordpress plugins I knew for a fact I was not using.

The answer to the issue, WAS in my plugins though!

The plugin I was using was SEO Ultimate, if you are using this plugin the answer to ‘How do I remove add this from wordpress without ftp access?’ is:

Go to> SEO in left hand sidebar menu on your dashboard

Go to> Modules

Go to ‘Sharing Facilitator’

Click ‘Disable’

Save changes.

Thank you so much for this! I’ve spent quite a lot of time trying to find where to remove those buttons. SEO had them all along.
